About me
Dr. Ervin has been a full-scope certified nurse-midwife since January 2014. She enjoys working side by side with her fellow nurse-midwives and physician colleagues to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care. Her midwifery passions include physiologic birth, true informed decision-making, and supporting women as they become mothers.
Dr Ervin graduated from the University of Virginia School of Nursing and joined the U.S. Navy after graduation. She was a labor and delivery nurse for ten years prior to becoming a nurse-midwife. She received her midwifery education at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. Dr Ervin was chosen as a Jonas Foundation Scholar to complete a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Frontier Nursing University. Her project was a strategic plan for the development of social support groups for military women experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Ervin also teaches part-time in a master's degree program training student nurse-midwives.
When she is not seeing patients for birth, pregnancy, or gynecologic health, Dr Ervin enjoys running, yoga, gardening, reading, and attending her four children's sporting and theater events.
