About me
Nekia Barrow, MD, MPH, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist (OB/GYN) and attending physician at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, and member of MedStar Health Women’s Health at Clinton.
Dr. Barrow earned her medical degree from The State University of New York, also known as SUNY, Downstate Health Sciences University, College of Medicine, and then completed a residency program at Nassau University Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
As part of her clinical areas of focus, Dr. Barrow provides versatile care for OB/GYN patients of all ages including teenagers, adolescents and middle-aged women. She specializes in all aspects of the OB/GYN field which includes delivering newborns, managing reproductive needs and helping women get through menopause.
Her philosophy on care involves analyzing the entire picture for each patient and treating them like family. Respect, coupled with compassion, is something that Dr. Barrow practices every day.
“I treat everyone like I would want someone to treat my mom or sister when they go to the doctor,” Dr. Barrow said. “I like MedStar Health’s approach in that we all work together as a team to try and provide the best care for our patients.
