Katherine Cohen

Katherine Cohen, JD, is the Research Compliance Director for MedStar Health Research Institute. She leads the Research Compliance Program (RCP), administered by the MedStar Health Office of Corporate Business Integrity, which supports and promotes ethical research practices throughout the entire MedStar Health system. The RCP serves the MedStar research community by coordinating system-wide research compliance policy and procedure development, and by ensuring that MedStar investigators are compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as with MedStar policies.

Prior to joining MedStar Health, Ms. Cohen served as the Manager of Research Compliance for Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. Other previous roles have included Ethics, Compliance and Privacy Officer; director for Medical Legal Partnership; and work as a private attorney. Ms. Cohen received her B.A. in Latin American Studies from Colgate University and was awarded her Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law in Miami, FL.
