T.J. Senker, FACHE, is the president of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, a role he has held since 2023. He has also served as a senior vice president at MedStar Health since 2016.
With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, Senker is a values-driven, innovative executive committed to fostering high-performance outcomes through a culture of continuous learning and daily improvement. At MedStar Good Samaritan and MedStar Union Memorial, he leads the overall strategic and operational direction of both hospitals, with a focus on implementing system-wide service lines and delivering greater value to patients and the community.
Since joining MedStar Health in 2008, Senker has held multiple leadership positions. From 2015 to 2023, he served as president and chief operating officer of MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, MD. Prior to that (2013-2015), he was vice president of Regional Integration and Operations in Baltimore, MD, where he led service optimization, performance improvement, and integration initiatives across the region. He began his MedStar tenure as vice president of Operations at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.
Before joining MedStar Health, Senker was vice president of Operations at Saint Mary’s Health System/Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT. He also worked at the University of Southern California (USC) University Hospital in Los Angeles as assistant administrator for Support Services while completing his master’s degree in healthcare administration from USC. He began his career at Andersen Consulting and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, cum laude, from Georgetown University.
An adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at Georgetown University, Senker is board-certified in healthcare management and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He currently serves on the Board of Towson University and as an alumni parent representative on the President’s Council of Advisors at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. A 2016 graduate of Leadership Montgomery, he was recognized as an Influential Marylander by The Daily Record in 2023.
