  • What services does the Potomac clinic offer?

Our Potomac physical therapy location specializes in rehabilitation of lower extremity injuries and conditions, including ankle, foot, knee and hip problems. Services include treatment for ankle sprains, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, running and sports injuries, post-surgical rehab, amputation rehabilitation, and general orthopedic injuries and conditions. We also provide treatments such as dry needling, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, myofascial decompression (cupping) and other manual therapy techniques. • Where is the clinic located and how can I contact you?

We are located in Montgomery County at 12400 Park Potomac Avenue, in Suite R-2A, in Potomac, Maryland 20854. The clinic is located inside the “National Foot & Ankle” office, making it a convenient option for patients referred for lower extremity concerns. Use the online Request an Appointment button or call 301-581-8057 to contact us.

  • What should I expect during my first visit?

On your first visit, a therapist will review your medical or injury history, assess mobility, strength, flexibility, range of motion, and functional limitations specific to your condition. Based on that evaluation, they’ll design a personalized rehabilitation plan. Treatment may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, soft-tissue mobilization, functional rehab (e.g. foot/ankle or knee rehab), injury-specific rehab (for sports, walking, return-to-activity), and home-exercise/program guidance.

  • How many therapy sessions will I need and how long might each session last?

The number of sessions and length depend on your specific condition, goals, and progress. Some patients complete therapy in fewer visits; others—especially those recovering from surgery or returning to sport—may need more frequent and/or longer sessions. We will monitor your progress and adjust your plan accordingly.

  • Does the clinic accept insurance, and how is coverage handled?

Yes — the Potomac clinic accepts most major health insurance plans. Insurance is verified prior to scheduling services; because coverage can vary by plan and service, it’s recommended to call ahead to confirm that your plan covers the therapy you require.

  • How should I prepare for my physical therapy appointment?

Eat a balanced meal 1-2 hours prior to therapy. Drink about 2.5 cups of water prior to therapy. Take any prescribed pain medications at least 1 hour prior to therapy. Dress in T-shirts, athletic tops, sweatpants, shorts, yoga pants, or athletic leggings. Wear athletic/walking shoes and avoid open toed sandals, flip-flops, and high heels. Ensure proper access to the treatment area.
