Dr. Kareem A. Zaghloul is a board-certified neurosurgeon practicing at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, exceptionally trained and specialized in epilepsy surgery. This field of neurosurgery offers hope to patients whose epilepsy does not respond well to medication, those with serious seizure disorders related to tumors located in critical brain regions, and others with unique electrical disturbances of the brain.
He began his medical education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he cultivated a broad clinical foundation. Dr. Zaghloul completed his neurosurgery residency and fellowships in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. He further advanced his expertise through doctoral and postdoctoral training in neuroscience and experimental psychology, establishing the basis for his current research in memory formation and retrieval.
