About me
Alyssa Zaidi, MD, is a non-invasive general cardiologist at MedStar Health Lafayette Centre and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She treats the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, valvular disease, and arrhythmias. Her special interests include clinical lipidology, cardio-obstetrics, and multimodality cardiac imaging.
Board-certified in echocardiography and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation, Dr. Zaidi uses echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging to provide comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans.
As a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology, Dr. Zaidi provides advanced preventative cardiovascular care, collaborating with the National Lipid Association. She is also active in the American College of Cardiology’s Cardio-Obstetrics group and has contributed to consensus statements. Her research centers on preventive cardiology guidelines and access to care.
Dr. Zaidi earned her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and received the Dr. Charles Schnall Alumni Award for Clinical Excellence. She completed her internal medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she also completed her fellowship in cardiovascular disease, earning the Miriam and Harold Steinberg Family Fellowship Award for research excellence.
Philosophy of care
“As a cardiologist, I believe it's my responsibility to fully educate and guide my patients while respecting their values and goals. My patients can count on me to be honest, attentive, and committed to helping them make informed decisions. They should know that I care deeply and want them to feel safe, supported, and confident in their care.”
