About me
Arash Taavoni, DO, joins MedStar Health Neurology at Reston as a board-certified neurologist with subspecialties in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. When combined with his fellowship training, Dr. Taavoni’s extensive experience includes diagnosing and treating epilepsy, seizures, migraines, trigeminal neuralgia, and other neurological disorders. He also is an expert at treating headaches with nerve blocks and Botox® injections.
Dr. Taavoni’s approach to care centers on providing individualized services that are tailored to address the specific needs of each patient. He begins this process by talking with patients about their conditions and wellness goals. After carefully reviewing medical histories and diagnostic assessments, he then develops comprehensive and effective treatment plans. These holistic strategies may include medication management, nerve conduction studies, electrodiagnostic tests, lifestyle modifications, and other evidence-based options. Moreover, he collaborates closely with a skilled team of neurologists and other specialists to further advance patients’ health.
Guided by ongoing clinical research, Dr Taavoni stays abreast of new medication and treatment options that provide patients with innovative methods to manage neurological disorders. He also is dedicated to keeping referring physicians informed about their patients’ progress and outcomes throughout the care process.
Philosophy of Care
“Every patient deserves respect, compassion, and excellent care. I cultivate trust-based relationships that prioritize the treatment of neurologic conditions alongside lifestyle modifications such as nutrition, exercise, and sleep. This holistic focus empowers many of my patients to enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.”
