About me

Dr. Ayasha Williams-Sharron is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management and fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Management. She specializes in diagnosing and treating painful conditions of the spine, joints, and musculoskeletal and neurologic systems, as well as pelvic and post-surgical pain.

Her areas of special interest include neuromodulation therapies (spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation) and interventional pain management (epidural injections, transforaminal injections, facet blocks, radiofrequency ablations, joint injections, genicular nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks). Dr. Williams-Sharron is a member of MedStar Health’s Pain Management Clinical Practice Committee (CPC), a leader in developing guidelines within MedStar Health for the practice of pain medicine.

She believes that no two patients are alike and it’s important to listen to each patient, then take a personally tailored to the treatment of their specific pain.

Dr. Williams-Sharron earned her medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, where she also completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.

When she’s not working, Dr. Williams-Sharron enjoys staying physically active, cooking, wine tasting, and improving her Spanish speaking skills.
