Ebony Marcelle, CNM practices full-scope midwifery with a focus in adolescents in the clinical setting. Marcelle joined the Hospital Center in 2010. Prior to her arrival, she performed out-of-hospital deliveries and worked as a registered nurse and birthing assistant. Marcelle also currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University. Marcelle delivers midwifery services that emphasize caring and compassionate case management, with a focus on the safety of and sensitivity to the mother. The Birth Center provides a comfortable space with an "out-of-hospital" feel within the hospital setting. Marcelle provides a relaxed, low-key experience that helps her patients remain calm throughout their delivery. She works to help them meet their birthing goals. She also enjoys infusing humor while working with patients. Marcelle appreciates advanced technology that enables women to play an active role in their health care. She loves being able to help empower women. She thinks it's a wonderful goal when a woman wants an unmedicated birth, and she focuses on helping the patient work towards that goal. Marcelle wants her patients to know that she's passionate about her job, loves working with them and works hard to make birthing the best experience for the mother and family.
