About me

Dr. Farha is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible gastroenterologist who treats patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. His areas of special expertise include colorectal cancer screening and prevention, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), evaluation of dysphagia and swallowing disorders, evaluation of esophageal and gastrointestinal motility disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other disorders of gut-brain interaction, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, evaluation and management of uncomplicated inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron deficiency anemia, and evaluation of abnormal liver tests and elevated liver enzymes.

Dr. Farha earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. He completed a clinical fellowship in gastroenterology at NYU Langone Health in New York City and a research fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

Dr. Farha’s research has been extensively published in peer-reviewed journals. His research focuses include therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopy-unit quality improvement and clinical operations, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in medical education and patient care.

When treating patients, Dr. Farha believes excellent digestive care begins with careful listening and understanding how a patient’s symptoms affect daily life. He explains what may be causing the problem, reviews the available diagnostic and treatment options in understandable language, and develops an evidence-based plan through shared decision-making. His goal is for every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident about the next step.

He is fluent in English, Arabic, and French.

When he is not working, Dr. Farha enjoys traveling, exploring different cultures and cuisines, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys creative projects involving education, artificial intelligence, and technology.
