About me
Karen Plaisir MSN, CRNP earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Buffalo State College, as well as Bachelor of Science in Nursing from D’Youville College, both in Buffalo, NY. She later attended the University at Buffalo where she completed her Master of Science in Nursing and certification as Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health. After completing her master’s degree she moved to Maryland worked as a nurse practitioner with Johns Hopkins Medicine. While employed at Johns Hopkins she furthered her education and earned her post-masters certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She is an experienced nurse practitioner in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology, infectious diseases, and family practice. She joined MedStar Health’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2015. Her treatment plans with patients always focus on education, preventative medicine, and self-care. She is board certified in Women’s Health and Family Practice.
