About me
Katherine Dong, MSN, AGNP-C, RN, CCRN, graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing from Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to joining MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, she was the senior nurse practitioner in the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medicine. At Weill Cornell Medicine, Katherine served as the nursing administrative coordinator and clinical lead for colon and rectal surgery.
At MedStar Georgetown, Katherine collaborates with board certified surgeons who specialize in laparoscopic, robotic, and complex open colon, rectal, and abdominal surgeries. The focus of her clinical practice is on the comprehensive patient experience and the transition between the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Katherine is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society, and The American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
She takes a holistic approach to patient care and educates all her patients about their condition and treatment options so they can be empowered, active partners in decisions about their care.
When she’s not working, Katherine enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with family.
