Kelly Scriven-Weiner, MD, has joined MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as Pediatric Otolaryngologist. She brings a combination of compassion, dedication, and expertise in the full spectrum of pediatric ENT care. She is one of the few physicians in the region trained in the advanced intracapsular tonsillectomy procedure. As part of a nationally recognized team of physicians, Dr. Scriven-Weiner takes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to personalized patient care. She is committed to meeting the individual needs and goals of each patient and their family as she fully exemplifies cura personalis, caring for the whole person.
Dr.Scriven-Weiner chose otolaryngology as her specialty because it allows her to treat patients in an office setting as well as in the operating room. She says the stamina her young patients exhibit as she helps them move through diagnosis to recovery is a source of constant inspiration.
Dr. Scriven-Weiner is a fluent Spanish speaker; a member of the American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery; and sits on the communications committee for Women in Otolaryngology. She received both the Medical Knowledge Award and Hugh O. DeFries Award as a resident at MedStar Georgetown. She has published four book chapters and four peer-reviewed articles.
As a mom of two young children, Dr. Scriven-Weiner feels a strong connection with her patients and their families. It is her sincerest pleasure to guide them through their medical issues and, for many, the early stages of parenting. Outside of her practice and child rearing, Dr. Scriven-Weiner finds time to enjoy yoga and explore the Washington, D.C., area.
Dr. Scriven-Weiner received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, going on to complete her residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
