About me
Kristin M. Brindisi, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant in vascular surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Health Cardiology at McLean Beverly Rd. Ms. Brindisi sees patients for diseases of the peripheral arteries and veins, specializing in carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), venous insufficiency, and varicose veins.
As a physician assistant, Ms. Brindisi evaluates and diagnoses patients, followed by a thorough review and discussion of their treatment options, which may include medications, lifestyle changes, or surgical procedures. Ms. Brindisi works closely with our vascular surgeons and thus can ensure a seamless transition of care to one of them should the patient require surgery. She also provides postoperative and ongoing clinical management, helping ensure continuity of care throughout the patient’s treatment journey.
Ms. Brindisi takes a whole-body approach to care, informed by her background in neurology, stroke care, orthopedics, and spine conditions. She is passionate about helping patients preserve their mobility, independence, and quality of life, especially those with claudication and other diseases that limit mobility or cause pain. A strong advocate for patient education, she ensures that her patients have a thorough understanding of their condition and treatment options, including new techniques for managing PAD and endovascular procedures for patients who are not candidates for open surgery.
Ms. Brindisi earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Virginia, where she graduated with distinction, and her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest School of Medicine, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Associates.
Ms. Brindisi is a native of the DMV area and is married with two children.
Philosophy of Care
“Patient education is extremely important to me. Whether the answer is straightforward or more complex, my goal is always to get to the root of the issue and help patients fully understand their diagnosis and options. That’s why I always take my time with each patient so they feel informed, supported, and confident about their options.”
