About me
Laura W. Koo, Ph.D., MS, CRNP, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner who is part of the MedStar Health Mobile Health Center team. She provides comprehensive care for patients age 5+ who are seeking treatment for acute and chronic health conditions on the Mobile Health Center, which navigates to communities across Baltimore City and aims to make healthcare services accessible for all. Dr. Koo has more than two decades of clinical experience in pediatric and family primary care settings. She is fluent in Spanish, making her a tremendous resource for families who sometimes face barriers while seeking medical care. Additionally, Dr. Koo is passionate about connecting with and mentoring nursing students and nurse practitioner students, while promoting the long-term benefits of careers in the healthcare and public health industries. Dr. Koo is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Maryland State Board of Nursing. In addition to her clinical experience, she has devoted a portion of her career to teaching, serving most recently as an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing.
