About me
Dr. Copeland joined the full time clinical faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in July 2020. He directs the Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) program which oversees the care of patients on parenteral antibiotics at home. He is also active in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows holding an assistant professorship of clinical medicine from the Georgetown University Medical Center.
Dr. Copeland's main clinical interests include treatment of mycobacterial and other granulomatous infections, treatment of patients living with HIV, and infections in immunocompromised hosts. Additionally, during his residency and fellowship, he completed comprehensive training in global health and tropical medicine spending clinical time in Thailand studying the management of tuberculosis and various tropical diseases.
