After earning her MSN/FNP from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York, she earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Quinnipiac University. She also holds a BS in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and a BA in Biological Science from Kean University in New Jersey.

Meggin has served as an adjunct faculty member in both the undergraduate and graduate schools of nursing at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and at Mount Saint Mary’s College in New York.

Meggin was a clinical research coordinator, having managed numerous gastroenterological clinical research trials to treat ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, hepatitis C, celiac disease, gastroparesis, and irritable bowel disease—diarrhea and constipation.

In addition, she is an active member of several professional GI associations.
