About me
Dr. Fischer is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who specializes in conditions involving the colon, esophagus, small intestine, and stomach.
Dr. Fischer’s areas of expertise include: celiac disease, constipation, dyspepsia, esophageal strictures, eosinophilic esophagitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, infections, and reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, malabsorptive conditions, and motility disorders.
Her prior research has included studying the links between the microbiome and fibromyalgia, which translates to a broader understanding of the complex nature of functional gastroenterology conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Fischer earned her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C.; completed her residency at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY; and her fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
She engages her patients in shared decision-making, leveraging evidence-based guidelines to provide personalized, safe, and effective care tailored to their unique medical circumstances.
When she’s not working, Dr. Fischer enjoys spending time with family, cooking, crocheting, reading, boxing, and playing pickleball.
