About me
Rachel Paquette, DO, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She offers a full range of gynecologic and reproductive services from diagnostic evaluation through treatment. Whether you are scheduling a routine visit or seeking answers for a more complex condition, she provides clear guidance and a personalized plan designed around your goals and priorities.
Dr. Paquette listens to your concerns and what you hope to address. She reviews your health history and symptoms, explains your choices in easy-to-understand language, and works with you on next steps. If an exam or screening is recommended, she explains what is involved and what you may experience beforehand, then talks you through what she is doing during the exam. Afterwards, she will review a follow-up plan with you, including treatment choices and when to expect results if testing was performed.
She earned her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Paquette also completed advanced training through a predoctoral fellowship in anatomy and osteopathic manipulative medicine. For patients, that means she considers the full picture, including your symptoms, medical history, daily life, and personal goals, while looking for the most likely root causes and practical solutions. Additionally, she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at MedStar Health and served as residency education chief at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, helping train new OB‑GYN doctors and contributing to a coordinated, safety‑first care team.
Philosophy of Care
Her philosophy of care begins with creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and fully involved in every decision. Gynecologic concerns can feel very personal, and it’s common to arrive with worry, uncertainty, or questions you have been hesitant to ask. She listens carefully then moves forward with an individualized plan. When you feel informed and heard, trust can grow.
Dr. Paquette is grateful when a patient feels comfortable sharing a difficult question, or telling her they are nervous about an exam, a diagnosis, or a decision. In those moments, her role is not only to diagnose and treat, but also to explain and reassure.
Whether we’re discussing menstrual changes, sexual health, fertility, or symptoms that are hard to put into words, you can count on a thoughtful conversation and guidance tailored to your goals.
