About me
Seida Ibrahim, CNM is a Certified Nurse Midwife passionate about providing full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal care, labor support and delivery, postpartum care, annual well-woman exams and pap smears, birth control options and consultations, and uncomplicated gynecological care. With a Master of Science in Nursing in Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University College of Nursing, Seida brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work.
What sets Seida apart is her ability to speak Amharic fluently, which allows her to communicate effectively with Ethiopian patients who may not be proficient in English. In addition to her language skills, Seida is motivated by developing countries' high rates of perinatal morbidity and mortality, which inspired her to pursue midwifery in the first place.
Before joining Midwives of MedStar, Seida served eight years as a Med/Surg and Labor & Delivery nurse at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Her true passion lies in supporting women in all aspects of their lives, with particular attention to their emotional and physical well-being. Seida believes in meeting families where they are and respecting their cultural values and personal preferences. When not serving her patients, Seida enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
