About me
Shannon Verleysen, NP is a board-certified nurse practitioner in the department of Gastroenterology at MedStar Health. She is part of the GI Connected Care Program, a convenient telehealth option providing you access to a GI specialist to address your GI health concerns and set pre-procedure appointments, within days not weeks.
Shannon specializes in treating patients with general gastrointestinal conditions and symptoms including abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and heartburn.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University and her Master of Science - Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University. Shannon believes in patient-centered, evidence-based care and working in partnership with her patients, emphasizing autonomy and quality of life.
When not working, Shannon enjoys listening to music, traveling, and finding new places to eat delicious foods.
