About me
Dr. Saroop is a licensed psychologist in the Women's Mental Health Program, Department of Psychiatry. She specializes in women's perinatal mental health and treats mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and postpartum. Dr. Saroop also provides support for women as they transition to motherhood. She conducts individual, couples, and family therapy. Another area of focus for Dr. Saroop includes providing support to families of babies receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She developed the Two Hearts Mental Health and Wellness Program in the NICU which provides mental health and wellness support to NICU families and NICU staff. She provides onsite consultation to treatment providers and brief interventions, assessments, and referrals for individuals and families who have a child receiving care in the NICU. She also provides wellness support to NICU staff. Dr. Saroop also participates in the training of psychiatry residents at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
