About me
Stefano Luccioli, MD, is board-certified in allergy/immunology and sees patients one day a week (usually Wednesdays) in an allergy practice within the General Internal Medicine clinic at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Luccioli completed his medical school and internal medicine training at Georgetown University and a clinical fellowship in allergy & immunology at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID/ NIH) in Bethesda, MD. Since 2002, he has worked as a medical officer at the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition of the Food and Drug Administration
Dr. Luccioli has years of clinical experience in allergy/immunology issues and has become an expert in food allergy and food hypersensitivity disorders. He has authored many publications, including a chapter on allergic diseases and asthma for a medical textbook.
Dr. Luccioli has been a member of national and international expert panels for developing public health guidelines, including the 'Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Food Allergy in the United States' and the 'Voluntary Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies In Schools and Early Care and Education Programs.'
In addition, Dr. Luccioli is a fellow of American, European and local specialty medical societies. He is fluent in Italian and is conversant in Spanish.
Dr. Luccioli is interested in food allergens and food additives as a cause of allergies. He is a strong proponent of patient education (adults and children) about allergies and the serious risks of anaphylaxis.
New patients: Please be advised that Dr. Luccioli works at MedStar Georgetown on a part-time basis. His practice may not offer services that are found at other allergy practices. His services are mainly intended for established patients within the MedStar Health system. If you are new to MedStar Health, please obtain a referral from your physician to make an appointment.
