Sujithra Jayaraj, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist dedicated to addressing the unique healthcare needs of women. She joined the medical staff at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in 2013.

Prior to MedStar Montgomery, Dr. Jayaraj was an attending physician with Medical Faculty Associates at George Washington University 

She specializes in the use of minimally invasive procedures including Robotic surgeries for complex procedures including Robotic Hysterectomy, Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, Vaginal hysterectomy, Myomectomy, Endometrial ablation, Polypectomies for treating gynecologic disorders including abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and pelvic organ prolapse. Her special interest is treating Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in a holistic approach.She also brings expertise in the obstetrical areas of external cephalic version, cerclage placement, and minimizing cesarean delivery rates using various techniques.

Dr. Jayaraj earned her medical degree at Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University/North Oakland Medical Centers in Pontiac, Michigan where she received Gayle Award for Academic excellence and outstanding Chief Resident. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellow at American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
