Jimmy Mickler, MD
From: New Orlean, Louisiana
Medical school: Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans
Residency: MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program
Why Georgetown? I was introduced to the program by a friend in medical school and have fallen in love with it since. From taking care of international travelers to former presidents, Georgetown offers the ability to care for a diverse set of patients from all across America and the world. The new ICU buildings, advanced interventional bronchoscopy, and faculty who prioritize teaching all make this a great place to train.
Favorite thing about DC: Having come from a city where it feels like summer for 10 months out of the year, 4 distinct and beautiful seasons has been an amazing experience especially the snow! I love exploring the national parks and nearby hiking trails with my wife and Australian Shepherd (Roxie) and will soon be bringing our newborn (Adam) on the adventures—after he gets all his shots!
