The program accepts ten residents each year. Selection for an interview is based on a number of factors, including academic and clinical performance. All PGY1 positions for the upcoming academic year for this program are selected through The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We do not offer pre-match positions.
International medical graduates
Graduates from medical schools outside of the US and Canada must apply for residency through Residency CAS by contacting the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and must be certified by ECFMG to qualify for admission. Information about certification and visa sponsorship, if required, is also available from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

USMLE
- While there is no minimum USMLE or COMLEX score (or maximum number of exam attempts) in order to apply to our program, taking the USMLE is a prerequisite.
- Is completion of USMLE Step 2 or COMLEX required at any point in the application process? Yes, to be placed on our rank list, successful completion of USMLE Step 2 and/or COMLEX is required.
Recommendations
We require a minimum of three letters of reference. We strongly suggest that at least two of these letters be a Standard Letter of Recommendation (SLOE).
Interviews
Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted via email regarding available dates and times. We utilize Residency CAS for application and interview scheduling. Interviews are offered on a rolling basis. We recommend checking your email regularly for openings and updates, as our schedule remains dynamic throughout the season.
Interview days are held virtually as recommended by the EM Council of Residency Directors (CORD).

Our residents host a casual virtual meeting for interviewees the evening before each scheduled interview day.
