A native of the DC area, Dr. Stephanie Cardella completed her medical education at Georgetown University School of Medicine (2011) followed by Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill (2011-2015). She practiced as an academic hospitalist at the University of Virginia from 2015-2016 before coming back home to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the division of Hospital Medicine. She now serves as the Associate Program Director of Inpatient Medicine for Georgetown’s Internal Medicine Residency. She is interested in medical education and mentorship and is one of the co-directors of the Michael Adams Clinician Educator (MACE) track for the residents. She serves as a member of the Clinical Competency Advisory Committee and as a mentor for the Argy Elective Teaching Residents. On the hospital side, Dr. Cardella is the medical director of the Bles 4 unit and is a member of the MedStar Georgetown Provider Patient Experience Advisory Council. She is also regional Co-Chair of the MedStar Hospital Medicine Tonic Patient Experience Survey Project.
