Chi An "Andy" Liu, MD, MS is a pediatric intensivist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine and serves as Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program, a role he took on in July 2026. Dr. Liu completed his Pediatric residency at the University of North Carolina, followed by a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, and then returned to University of North Carolina for a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and holds a Biomedical Ethics Certificate. Dr. Liu is deeply committed to resident education, running simulation sessions and teaching communication skills for goals-of-care discussions and serious news delivery. His scholarly interests sit at the intersection of critical care and palliative medicine, with published work on tracheostomy decision-making and advance care planning in pediatric patients with serious illness. Dr. Liu and his wife, Kaitlyn, live in Arlington with their cockapoo, Millie. They love going on long walks with her.
