Omar Galal, MD

Omar is originally from Montreal, Canada, and completed medical school in the United Arab Emirates. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, he is now learning Spanish and enjoys getting to know people through their stories and backgrounds. Growing up playing competitive soccer shaped his love of teamwork, and he looks forward to bringing that same spirit to residency. Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active, especially on the soccer field or basketball court. He recently learned to play the guitar and is excited to keep expanding his repertoire, one song at a time!

Favorite Place in DC: Dupont circle for people watching, and my rooftop during sunset for relaxing!
Favorite Restaurant in DC: Doro Soul Food (their fried chicken is amazing!)
Favorite Movie/Quarantine Binge: The Harry Potter movies or The Karate Kid (the one with Jaden Smith)
Hobbies: Playing soccer, basketball, doodling, playing guitar, bed rotting.
Future Plans/Subspecialty Interest: Still undecided but likely something procedural (Peds Cardio, PICU, Peds EM are my top choices right now!)
