Application process
Eligible applicants are those who will have received their MHA, MPH or MBA from an accredited domestic program within 12 months prior to the start of the fellowship in July 2024, or who will receive their degree upon the completion of a fellowship.
The MedStar Health Fellowships are administrative fellowships designed for those who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare administration in an integrated delivery system, hospital, or ambulatory setting. The fellowships are not health policy or public health fellowships.
We do not sponsor visas for this program.
Application requirements
- Resume/CV
- Cover letter (one per applicant)
- Personal statement (one per applicant , 1 page maximum)
- Written statement of the applicant's career objectives and why the applicant is applying for the fellowship. Indicate which MedStar Health Administrative Fellowship Program(s) you are interested in applying to (up to 2 programs - please state your order of preference), and briefly describe your interest in each program.
- Official graduate school transcript. If submitting an application by mail, send the official graduate school transcript directly from the school or digital credential service
- Three letters of recommendation: one academic, one professional, and one other. If you’re mailing your application, letters of recommendation can be included in application packet or sent directly from the recommender to the address below.
You may apply through the National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS) portal or by mail. Emailed applications will not be accepted.

Important dates
- Friday, September 29th: Application Deadline
- Mid to Late September: Rolling Phone Interviews
- Early October: Superior candidates will be invited to interview with executives at MedStar Health
- Official offers will be extended after the completion of interviews
