Hiwot Guebre-Xabiher is the Administrative Director of Oncology Research at MedStar Health Research Institute. In this role, she oversees all oncology research operations across the MedStar Health system, including clinical trial strategy, activation, execution, and performance. She leads efforts to ensure high-quality, patient-centered research while advancing access to innovative cancer therapies.
With more than 14 years of experience in oncology clinical research, Hiwot has played a key role in expanding trial portfolios, streamlining operational workflows, and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration. Prior to joining MedStar, she served in a leadership role in oncology research at George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates.
Hiwot holds a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from George Mason University and is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
