MedStar Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital consists of a comprehensive Clinical and Anatomical Pathology laboratory. Located on the Georgetown University campus, we value our strong connection between academic excellence, education, and clinical research activities. Certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the Department serves as a leader in a wide variety of diagnostic pathology services committed to the highest standards of care. Our faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized and most have advanced subspecialty training. Along with our dedication to the rapid delivery of diagnostic test results, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is dedicated to teaching and mentoring of the leaders of the future. Our educational programs include a Pathology Residency program, Fellowship in Cytopathology, active roles in graduate/medical programs at Georgetown University, and Pathologist’s Assistants and Medical Technology student clinical affiliations.
