Good Samaritan Hospital Testimonial

“The Bloodless Medicine Surgery Program at Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, was officially implemented on June 6, 2019. The initial planning for our program began over one year ago. Fortunately, we were placed in touch with MedStar’s International Training Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery (“MITC”- medstarbloodless.org). Their Director, Michael Hoffman, was extremely helpful and caring throughout the process. They guided us with their expertise, and educational materials- all without any cost! Their information modules on Bloodless Medicine and Surgery were posted on our intranet, and helped our medical providers gain an understanding of the fundamental principles and techniques of the bloodless approach. We were able to build a leading program to care for a growing subset of patients who believe blood transfusions are in conflict with their personal beliefs, biological conditions or personal preferences. MedStar’s collegial spirit and enthusiasm to share their vision, policies, and educational material made the MITC team a true pleasure to confer with.”
