How Common is the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in the NFL?

Main Objective

The overall objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors among active National Football League (NFL) players. Working under the direction of the NFL Subcommittee on Cardiovascular Health, MedStar Research staff has coordinated logistics of web-based data collection from physical exams, laboratory tests, and questionnaires for 12 NFL teams. Analyses are currently underway and manuscripts are being prepared for publication.
