Jessica J. McLain, MHA, CFRE

Jessica McLain is Senior Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer, MedStar Health.

Prior to joining MedStar Health in December 2023, Jessica served as Chair of Philanthropy, Cleveland Clinic Florida market. Her career began at Martin Health in 2004, where she served for 15 years at the Martin Health Foundation, with her most recent appointment as the Vice President and Chief Philanthropic Officer. When the health system joined Cleveland Clinic in 2019, a five-hospital system was created in Southeast Florida, with Jessica serving as its Chair of Philanthropy for the Cleveland Clinic Florida Region, South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. In addition to philanthropy, Jessica also led a team of donor liaisons and patient facilitation programs that supported the clinic’s largest donors.

Jessica is actively involved in her professional organization, the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, and was most recently named Executive Track Dean for AHP Madison Institute as well as a member of the AHP Governance Committee.  She earned her Master of Healthcare Administration in 2006 and her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2008. In addition, Jessica holds a certificate from the University of Georgia in financial planning.

A native Floridian, Jessica moved to the Washington, D.C. region in 2023. She and her husband, George, are high school sweethearts and proud parents of a daughter, Kate. The McLains are supporters of Molly’s House, MedStar Health, and animal-related causes. Jessica enjoys fostering and placing dogs that are not adapting well to the shelter setting. Being true animal lovers, they have three dogs of their own: a German Shepherd, a Mini-Aussie/toy poodle, and a bulldog mix.
