Lisa Cusaac is the Director of Patient Care Services at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. In her role, she provides leadership for the nursing and clinical support staff that deliver high quality, outpatient oncology care. Lisa began her nursing career in at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She has held the Director position in the Cancer Center since early 2017. Prior to her current role, Cusaac worked in various positions within Georgetown, including serving as the Inpatient Nurse Manager for the Adult and Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and the Nurse Manager of the Outpatient Infusion areas.
She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) with her membership spanning 25 years. Lisa participated in the Oncology Leadership Development program and serves as a volunteer for ONS, annually reviewing applications for oncology nursing annual awards and scholarships. Recognizing the need to validate specialty knowledge, experience and clinical judgment, she maintains certification in her specialty from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and serves as a mentor for ONCC; encouraging others to do the same. She also maintains her Chemotherapy/Biotherapy proficiency with the Oncology Nursing Society.
Cusaac holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Howard University and a Master of Science in nursing from Phoenix University.
