Mike Manning is the Senior Nursing Director for Oncology, Medicine, Behavioral Health, Dialysis/Apheresis, and Emergency Services. Mike started with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH) in the Emergency Department (ED) in 2004. He worked in a variety of roles in the ED for over 19 years including as ED nurse director. During his tenure at MedStar Georgetown, Mike has provided leadership for various initiatives and councils. He previously served as chair of the MedStar ED Nurse Leaders Council, and chair of the MedStar Georgetown Clinical Managers Council. Mike was also a member of the MedStar National Patient Safety Goal (NPSG) 15 Task Force on suicide prevention. Additionally, in 2019, Mike was a member of the MedStar Leader of the Future Nursing Development Program and completed the Wharton Nurse Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and received his Master’s of Nursing Executive Leadership from Chamberlain University.
