Brittani’s Story: Greater Success and Accuracy with New Technology

When fatigue and thirst sent 32-year-old Brittany Riddle to the endocrinologist, an MRI scan revealed a benign pituitary tumor. Under the expertise of neurosurgeon Dr. Edward Aulisi at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Brittani underwent a complicated, intracranial surgery to remove the tumor through the nasal passages. During the procedure, Dr. Aulisi used a new portable CT scanner that allowed the surgical team to monitor the brain in real-time and operate with greater accuracy.
