T.J. Senker, FACHE, serves as president of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, positions he has held since 2023. He also serves as senior vice president of MedStar Health, a role he has held since 2016.
With more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, Senker is a highly accomplished executive recognized for driving transformational change, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. A values-based leader, he is committed to building high-performing organizations through continuous learning, innovation, and a culture of daily improvement. At MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, he provides strategic and operational leadership for both institutions, advancing systemwide service line integration, enhancing patient outcomes, and strengthening value for the communities they serve.
Since joining MedStar Health in 2008, Senker has served in a succession of leadership roles of increasing scope and responsibility. He began as vice president of Operations at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital before assuming regional leadership as vice president of Regional Integration and Operations, where he drove performance improvement, operational integration, and service optimization across the Baltimore market.
In 2015, he was named chief operating officer of MedStar Montgomery Medical Center and was appointed president the following year. Under his leadership, the MedStar Montgomery achieved substantial growth and operational excellence while advancing strategic priorities that enhanced care delivery and community impact. He led the organization until 2023, when he was selected to serve as president of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital.
Before joining MedStar Health, Senker served as vice president of Operations for Saint Mary’s Health System and Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at USC University Hospital in Los Angeles, including assistant administrator for Support Services, while earning a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Southern California. He began his professional career with Andersen Consulting and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from Georgetown University.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Senker is dedicated to advancing healthcare leadership and education. He serves as an adjunct assistant professor in Georgetown University’s Department of Health Systems Administration and is a board-certified healthcare executive and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He currently serves on the Board of Towson University and as an alumni parent representative on the President’s Council of Advisors at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. A graduate of Leadership Montgomery’s Class of 2016, Senker was recognized as an Influential Marylander by The Daily Record in 2023.
