About me
Malick Islam, MD is a cardiac electrophysiologist practicing at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. He is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. Dr. Islam is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.
Dr. Islam specializes in treating patients with a wide spectrum of heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation (AFib), supraventricular tachycardias (SVT), ventricular tachycardias (VT), and heart block. In addition, he specializes in left atrial appendage occlusion with watchman. He is particularly interested in the management of complex atrial arrhythmias. He strives to learn new techniques and implement the latest technology in his EP practice.
He is the former medical director for cardiac electrophysiology with Beebe healthcare in Lewes, Delaware and spearheaded the implementation of multiple new programs within the cardiac EP department.
