About me
Walter C. Hembree, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery. He sees patients in Frederick, at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, at MedStar Harbor Hospital, and at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital.
Dr. Hembree’s treatment philosophy is to assist patients in making informed, evidence-based decisions about their care, and to only use surgery as a last resort option. His clinical interests include total ankle replacement; foot and ankle sports injuries, trauma, and arthritis; flatfoot deformity; and forefoot and bunion surgery. He is excited to be a part of the research-driven academic foot and ankle program at Union Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Hembree is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.
In 2023, he was named a Top Doctor by Baltimore magazine.
