About me
Ajaypaul Sukhi, MD, is an interventional cardiologist practicing at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, who specializes in coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease. He is triple board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Sukhi’s provides evidence-based treatments, including various procedures such as percutaneous coronary intervention, alcohol septal ablation, mechanical circulatory support, intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, and rotational atherectomy.
Known for his compassionate and respectful attitude, he builds trust with patients through clear communication and careful guidance. His approach combines technical precision with humane considerations to provide the most appropriate treatment for each patient.
Dr. Sukhi received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangalore, India. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Maryland. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and an interventional cardiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Sukhi is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
He speaks Hindi and Punjabi.
