About me
Anh Nguyen, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Nguyen specializes in the diagnosis, surgical and medical management of cancers of the female reproductive tract, including cervical, vaginal, vulvar, ovarian, and uterine cancers. She also sees patients for complex gynecologic conditions like endometriosis and fibroids.
Dr. Nguyen provides comprehensive, full-spectrum care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Her surgical expertise spans from minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries to complex open procedures. She also provides systemic treatments, including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and specialized approaches such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).
Dedicated to advancing women's cancer care, Dr. Nguyen received a grant from the Laughlin Family Foundation during her fellowship training to fund her research on overcoming drug resistance and evaluating novel combination therapies for advanced endometrial cancer. Outside of the clinic and laboratory, she is passionate about community health and cancer prevention, particularly in increasing HPV vaccination awareness. Dr. Nguyen emphasizes personalized, evidence-based care and stays current with advances in gynecologic oncology to offer patients the most appropriate treatment options.
Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and being with her family.
Philosophy of Care
“A gynecologic cancer diagnosis is overwhelming. It is my deep privilege to walk alongside my patients at every step of the way. I want my patients to feel heard, supported, and confident in the care plans we build for them based on their unique needs.”
