About me
Ann E. Hwalek, DO, MS, has joined MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as attending physician. In her new role, Dr. Hwalek is part of the region’s largest team of fellowship-trained thoracic surgeons providing treatment for the full array of benign and malignant lung, esophageal, and other thoracic diseases in adolescents and adults. Dr. Hwalek’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Journal of Thoracic Disease, and Surgery among others. Dr. Hwalek’s area of special interest includes minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
