About me
Benjamin Raatjes, MD, is an inpatient psychiatrist at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He has experience and interest in the areas of emergency psychiatry, involuntary psychiatric are, and the acute management of severe and persistent psychiatric illness. He received his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria before completing his psychiatry residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He served as an inpatient psychiatrist and then the medical director of the Jacobi Medical Center Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program in the Bronx, NY, before coming to MedStar Health. Here he serves as the medical director for one of Washington Hospital Center’s inpatient psychiatric units and the primary clinical supervisor for residents and medical students who rotate there.
