About me
Christine (Chris) Owen is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Nursing, Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, Acute Care and Clinical Nurse Specialist program. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse First Assist. She has over 30 years of nursing and NP experience in the areas of surgical critical care, open heart surgery, trauma and burns.
As a nurse practitioner she has specialized in the care of those with vascular disease, wounds, Vascular Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery. She has presented locally and nationally on topics related to vascular disease.
She offers an outpatient clinic for care of those with cerebrovascular, aneurysmal, venous and peripheral artery disease, wounds, and dialysis access.
She provides inpatient management of the vascular surgery patient.
She provides perioperative care of the vascular surgery patient including first assisting in open and endovascular procedures.
Chris is past president of the Society for Vascular Nursing. She is a member of the Society for Vascular Nursing, Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Vascular Medicine and Society for Interventional Radiology.

- She was the 2023 recipient of the Jeanne E. Doyle award which is the highest honor bestowed to an active member of the Society for Vascular Nursing in the areas of vascular nursing research, education and practice. She received a Medal of Merit from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department in 2010.
