About me
Beth Robson, CNM (she/her) has been a nurse midwife with the Midwives of Medstar since 2014. She loves being part of an amazing team of midwives with vast experiences that complement each other. She practices midwifery with a commitment to meeting people where they are, and with gratitude that she can be a part of their experience, whatever that looks like for each individual.
Beth’s journey to midwifery started in the neonatal intensive care unit where she worked as a nurse for 14 years. She has an incredible ease with newborns and gift for coaching parents with early newborn care. After graduating from Shenandoah University with a Master of Science in Nursing, she started her midwifery career at an out-of-hospital practice where she cared for families birthing in both the home and birth center settings. She reflects that having this experience helped her to build trust in birth and respect for the process newborns go through as they transition naturally to extrauterine life.
Beth is also trained as a mindfulness-based childbirth and parenting instructor. She enjoys teaching these skills to those pregnant and parenting, and incorporates this skillset into her care of families prenatally, in labor, and postpartum.
In addition to her clinical practice, Beth works at Georgetown University where she enjoys training and mentoring the next generation of midwives. She serves as the coordinator for clinical skills training as well as adjunct faculty teaching didactic courses to midwifery students.
Beth is also proud to be a parent, and a partner, and has had the honor of raising three amazing humans. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, hiking, trail running, playing pickleball, and reading.
