About me
Dr. Rechache is a triple board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologist who specializes in treating patients with hematologic malignancies with a special expertise in allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (alloHCT) and cellular immunotherapies.
He earned his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland and completed his residency at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. He completed fellowships in Hematology and Oncology at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.
In addition to treating patients, he is an active researcher, most recently serving as a staff clinician/assistant research physician at the Center for Immuno-Oncology at NIH. Dr Rechache views research not as separate from patient care, but as a vital extension of the commitment to improve outcomes and offer hope where standard options may be limited. He has developed and overseen investigator-initiated early phase/first-in-human clinical trials at the National Cancer Institute/NIH. He has also served as associate program director, Cell Therapies, for the NIH Hematology/Oncology fellowship. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
When he is not working, he enjoys hiking, camping, soccer, and traveling.
Dr. Rechache is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
Philosophy of care
Dr. Rechache’s philosophy of care centers on providing compassionate, personalized, evidence-based treatment to patients facing complex and often life-altering diagnoses. He believes in caring for the whole person — not just the disease — and walking alongside patients and their families through every stage of their journey.
He views the physician–patient relationship as a partnership built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect and is committed to clear and honest communication, ensuring that patients and their families feel informed and empowered. Dr. Rechache strives to ensure that every patient understands their diagnosis and options and feels supported in making informed decisions that align with their goals and values. He believes it is a profound privilege to care for patients during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives, and he approaches that responsibility with humility, compassion, and dedication.
