About me
Oscar E. Dimant, MD, is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Dimant completed an internship in internal medicine at Northwell Health-Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NY, and completed both a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as a fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, affiliated with Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in NJ. Dr. Dimant is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
Dr. Dimant’s clinical activities are focused on the rehabilitation and nonsurgical management of spinal cord injuries and disorders, including traumatic injuries, myelopathy, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, and other conditions affecting the function of the spinal cord. Dr. Dimant also specializes in the evaluation and management of spasticity, including addressing potential triggering factors as well as treating with oral medications, botulinum toxin injections, and intrathecal baclofen. Dr. Dimant has additional expertise and interest in caring for LGBTQIA+ people and hopes that every patient will feel seen and appreciated for who they are. Dr. Dimant’s research activities focus on complications of spinal cord injury, LGBTQIA+ health and wellness, and medical education.
